WRAD - Western Region Alcohol & Drug Centres Inc

The WRAD Centre has operated a drug treatment service for more than 20 years to the people of Warrnambool and the Shires of Corangamite, Southern Grampians and Moyne. WRAD is committed to providing specialist services to individuals and families across the Western District.
The WRAD Centre's vision is to advance the health and wellbeing of those in the South Western Region of Victoria affected by Addictive behaviours and to promote optimal enjoyment of life. The WRAD Centre seeks to provide comprehensive, holistic support and treatment to individuals and others affected by addictive behaviours and associated issues.
The philosophy of harm minimisation underpins the delivery of all programs offered by WRAD. This principle recognises that people in our society use both licit and illicit drugs, and that drugs can be used in ways that are more or less harmful to individuals, families and society. Harm minimization offers a number of options designed to reduce the harm of drug use to the user and society.

Who can access W&DFS

The Warrnambool and District Food Share Inc (“food share”) has been set up to primarily service agencies in Warrnambool and surrounding region. We do not interview clients and do not encourage agencies to send their clients direct to the food share for assistance.
If this page is being read by someone who needs food, please contact your local service provider and they will organise food for you (Brophy, DHS, WRAD, Salvation Army, Centrelink, etc).
If you need any assistance with hampers etc feel free to inbox the Coordinator.
W&DFS is happy to assist agencies to create suitable hampers for clients based on:

The above questions enable us to cater to the individual needs of your clients and provide the best types of food for their circumstances. We provide food for seven days worth of meals in hampers.

When can we access the W&DFS?

The food share is open:

Agency representatives can access the food share at any time during opening hours. We have a limited supply of boxes, bags etc to use for hampers. If your agency has access to bags, solid boxes etc we will gratefully receive them.

Food at the Food Share

All food received by the food share is surplus, near to date etc that is donated by supermarkets, VIC Relief Food Bank and other food suppliers. We are also supported by some local businesses who provide some transport, freezer space etc
until we can source funding to purchase a chiller truck and freezer/cool room to transport and store frozen food ourselves.
Each day we do food pick ups from supermarkets in Warrnambool. This food mainly consists of fresh fruit and vegetables, some meat, bread etc. and varies from day to day in quantity and type.
